The municipality has the right to its own symbols. A municipality that has its own symbols is obliged to use them in the exercise of self-government. The symbols of the village are the coat of arms of the village, the flag of the village, the seal of the village, or even the bell of the village. Legal entities established or established by the municipality, other legal entities and natural persons may use symbols of the municipality only with the consent of the municipality. A part of the municipality also has the right to its own symbols. The provisions of this Act on the use of municipal symbols also apply to the part of the municipality that exercises territorial self-government. The municipality marks with the municipal coat of arms and the municipal flag the building that is the seat of the municipal authorities, the meeting room of the municipal council and the official room of the mayor of the municipality. The municipality uses an imprint of the official stamp with the municipal coat of arms and the name of the municipality for decisions, authorizations and certificates of facts issued in the exercise of self-government. The municipality submits a proposal to the Ministry to register the symbols of the municipality in the Heraldic Register of the Slovak Republic.
